Out of 11 major irrigation dams in the drought-hit Maharashtra, seven have no water left in them, official figures revealed.&nbsp;
As per the latest data available with the Water Resources Department &mdash; for the second week of April &mdash; only three per cent of water stock is available in all the 814 major, medium and minor irrigation dams across Marathwada.

The seven major irrigation dams in Marathwada where the water stock is zero per cent are &mdash; Jayakwadi, Purna Siddheshwar, Majalgaon, Manjra, Lower Terna, Mannar and Sina Kolegaon &mdash; located in Aurangabad, Parbhani, Beed, Nanded and Osmanabad districts.
Besides, Upper Penganga dam has 10 per cent water, Vishnupuri seven per cent and Lower Dudhana has 18 per cent. While the 75 minor irrigation dams have just four per cent water stock, 728 minor irrigation projects are left with paltry three per cent.
To counter the acute water scarcity in various parts of the state, the Water Resources Department has deployed 4,356 tankers across Maharashtra to supply potable water.
Out of these, 3,032 tankers have been deployed in Aurangabad, 831 in Nashik, 303 in Pune, 131 in Amravati, 52 in Konkan and seven in Nagpur division.
Meanwhile, nine trips by a 10-wagon and a 50-wagon water train, aptly named Jaldoot, carrying 25 lakh litres water, reached the worst-hit Latur yesterday.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that 70 lakh litres of water has been delivered to Latur by train so far.
The train came as a big relief for Latur citizens who have been struggling to get drinking water.
