HEAVY monsoon showers and strong winds battered Pune district over the weekend, triggering numerous tree-fall incidents across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. One person was seriously injured, traffic was disrupted, and authorities issued fresh safety advisories for tourists visiting forts, waterfalls, and forest destinations.
Man hurt
A man suffered serious spinal injuries after a large roadside tree collapsed on him on Kunal Icon Road near Saudagar Hotel in Pimple Saudagar on Saturday morning. The victim, SN Gudale, was rescued by police, fire brigade, and civic officials and shifted to Jeevan Jyoti Hospital for treatment.
