A motorcyclist was killed after a cement mixer truck overturned and crushed his two-wheeler in Maharashtra's <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/two-killed-in-early-morning-collision-on-pune-mumbai-expressway-near-khalapur-23633094" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pune city</a> shortly after midnight on Wednesday, police said, reported PTI.
The incident occurred around 12.30 am near a hospital at Navale Bridge in the Narhe area on the Katraj-Bavdhan route, reported PTI.
The cement mixer truck suddenly overturned while negotiating a turn at the Navale chowk and fell onto the motorcycle, crushing the rider underneath, officials from Narhe police station said.
The motorcyclist, identified as Rameshwar Machhindra Bhogale (31), a resident of Katraj and originally from Beed district, died on the spot, the police said, reported PTI.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/two-killed-in-truck-collision-near-missing-link-on-mumbai-pune-expressway-23630713" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">The truck driver</a>, Gorakh Laxman Ransure (50), sustained minor head injuries and was taken for medical treatment, they said, reported PTI.
The police later removed the vehicles from the spot and restored traffic movement on the stretch.
<h2>Six killed as car collides with motorcycle in Jalgaon</h2>
In another incident, six persons were killed and one was injured after a speeding car collided with a motorcycle in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district on Tuesday morning, police officials said, reported PTI.
The incident occurred around 7 am near Londhe Phata at Amalner in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-six-killed-as-car-collides-with-motorcycle-in-jalgaon-23634379" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Jalgaon</a>, an official said, reported PTI.
The car occupants were travelling from Gujarat to attend an engagement ceremony when their vehicle collided head-on with a motorcycle. After the collision, the motorcycle crashed into a bus coming from the opposite direction, the official said.
Four car occupants -- Nandlal Mahajan, Anita Mahajan, Suresh Mahajan and Nirmala Mahajan -- and two motorcycle riders, identified as Nilesh Tawade and Falguni Bhoi, died in the accident, he said, reported PTI.
The car driver, Aditya Mahajan, suffered serious leg fractures and was rushed to a private hospital, the official said, reported PTI.
Local residents rushed to the spot after the incident and helped the police and medical emergency teams in the rescue operation.
A probe was underway into the incident, the police added.
<h2>Three dead in collision between two motorcycles</h2>
Meanwhile, three persons were killed following a collision between two motorcycles in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/maharashtra-family-of-four-dies-in-road-accident-in-wardha-district-23515364" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Wardha</a> district of Maharashtra on Tuesday evening, police said, reported PTI.
The accident occurred on the Pulgaon-Arvi Road, they said.
One of the motorcycles was going from the wrong side of the road when the accident took place. Both the vehicles were reportedly traveling at a high speed at that time, an official of Pulgaon police station said.
The deceased were identified as Yogesh Meshram (28), Devendra Darne (36) and Gangadhar Darne (58), all residents of Bhandara district, reported PTI.
