Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday described Maharashtra Forest Minister and BJP leader Ganesh Naik as a "skilled wrestler" who would ultimately emerge victorious, amid growing reports of a political tug-of-war between Naik and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for dominance in the Thane-Palghar region.

According to the PTI, while speaking at the inauguration of the Sena (UBT)'s public relations office, Raut remarked, "Ganesh Naik is a seasoned wrestler. He will be the final victor," adding that Naik had maintained his composure despite internal tensions within the ruling alliance.

Raut also took aim at the BJP-led central government, criticising its push for major infrastructure projects in Palghar, including the Vadhavan and Murbe ports. He alleged these were being forced upon taxpayers to benefit a single industrialist.

As per PTI, he further slammed the government over the deteriorating condition of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway, calling it a symbol of neglect.

In a significant political signal, Raut noted that Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's scheduled appearance at the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s 'Deepotsav' event at Shivaji Park later in the evening was a “major political development” and a "leap forward" towards a possible Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance.

Sanjay Raut alleges 45 lakh fake voters added in Maharashtra; sparks new political row ahead of civic polls

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday once again ignited the fire in the Maharashtra political scenario. The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, while talking to the media on Tuesday, raised serious concerns over an alleged irregular spike in Maharashtra’s voter list.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader claimed that the state’s total number of registered voters has mysteriously increased by 40 to 45 lakh, which is highly suspicious, and the ruling party, in collaboration with the Election Commission, is trying to manipulate the voter list.

Sanjay Raut further alleged that the sudden rise in voter numbers lacks transparency and could potentially affect the credibility of the upcoming civic poll elections, which are expected to be conducted by the end of this year.

Speaking to the media in Mumbai, the Rajya Sabha MP said, “The Chief Electoral Officer, Election Commission officials, and the state’s Chief Electoral Officers are meeting with all-party delegations, including Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, and various other senior leaders from the opposition.”
