The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest weather bulletin on Wednesday, has issued a yellow alert across several districts in Maharashtra. The state is set to witness typical pre-monsoon variability over the next few days, with thunderstorms and rain affecting western and coastal regions, even as heat continues to dominate the interiors. The weather bureau has appealed to residents to stay alert to changing conditions, especially in districts under yellow alert.
Mumbai, Thane likely to see light rain
Mumbai and Thane are expected to receive light rainfall amid hot and humid conditions. Meanwhile, districts such as Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Jalgaon are under yellow alert, with thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 30–40 kmph likely at isolated places.
