Nagpur: Maharashtra will strictly follow principles of the Constitution and emerge as the best state in the country, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday.
Paying tributes to B R Ambedkar, Fadnavis said he gave the country the world's best Constitution.

"Our Constitution is the best in the world. We, in Maharashtra, will strictly adhere to the principles of the Constitution and emerge as the best state in the country," he said here on the occasion of Constitution Day.
Fadnavis said that the country, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is marching towards development and prosperity.
The CM led over 1.25 lakh students from various schools to recite the preamble of the Constitution at a mass recitation programme organised by the Ministry of Social Justice at the Yeshwant stadium in Nagpur this morning.
Dressed in school uniforms, the students sporting green, saffron and white caps followed Fadanvis in reciting the preamble.
State Social Justice Minister Rajkumar Badole, Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Minister of State for Social Justice Dilip Kamble and city Mayor Pravin Datke were present on the occasion.
RST Nagpur University's Vice-Chancellor Siddartha Vinayak Kane and Registrar Puran Meshram presented a copy of an action plan of varsity for the the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Ambedkar.
The Block Congress Committee of North Nagpur, Nagpur City and District Congress Committee also organised mass recitation of the Constitution's preamble at various places in Nagpur.
The Republican Party of India organised a similar programme near the statue of Dr Ambedkar at RBI square in Civil Lines on the busy Nagpur-Jabalpur road.
Adjudicator of Asia book of Records and Limca Book of Records, Sunita Kshirsagar Dhote claimed on the occasion that the event has been recognised by them for record number of students participating in the mass recitation programme of the Constitution's preamble.
