A woman drowned after a boat carrying devotees to a temple capsized in the Godavari river in Maharashtra's Beed district on Wednesday, an official said.

The incident occurred around 10.30 am in the Golegaon area, he said. The boat was about to head to Purushottampuri, a shrine dedicated to Lord Purushottam, located about 20 km from Majalgaon tehsil.
