A senior Rajasthan Administrative Service official Monday beat his 48-year-old wife to death with a cricket bat due to marital discord, said police.

Ramdev Singh, posted as assistant district magistrate in the Jaipur district collector office, suspected that his wife had extra-marital affairs, police said.
