A 30-year-old man was accidentally shot dead during celebratory firing by a relative of a newly elected member of the District Development Committee (DDC) in Ghunghter area, a senior officer said here on Tuesday.

A 30-year-old man was accidentally shot dead during celebratory firing by a relative of a newly elected member of the District Development Committee (DDC) in Ghunghter area, a senior officer said here on Tuesday.

Agresh Rawat was shot dead when Jai Singh, brother-in-law of newly elected DDC member Kiran Devi, opened fire as a mark of celebration, in Shravan village yesterday, SP Navneet Kumar Rana said.
