A person who had come to submit a tender at the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) last morning was beaten up by six people. The Wanavadi police booked a person named Vivek Yadav and five to six accomplices of his for threatening and thrashing Ashish Mahendru, a resident of Vadgoan Sheri who had gone to the PCB to fill the vehicle entry tender. The police also got hold of CCTV footage of the incident, but the quality of images was said to be poor.
While PCB Vice-President Karan Makwani denied there had been violence, Mahendru told MiD DAY he was attacked by Yadav when he was at the PCB with his brother Vijay Shetty. "Yadav attacked me. I had seen Yadav two or three times before when I had gone to submit the tender," Mahendru said. Mahendru also claimed to have received a threat call in the morning.
