The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have arrested Anna Londhe, the confidante of a senior NCP minister, for opening fire at three members of a family from his licenced gun over a monetary conflict at Mohan Nagar in Dhanakawadi on Wednesday night. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Khoon_2.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 461px;" /> Representation Pic According to the police, the 38-year-old had got the gun licence in May this year. However, he had applied for the same in 2011 as well, and his application was rejected by the then Commissioner of Police Meera Borwankar. He then applied for it again this year, and with the help of his political contacts, he managed to get the licence. Speaking to MiD DAY, DCP (admin) Jayant Naiknavare said, &ldquo;Londhe owns a business of building material. While applying for the licence in 2011, he had said that he supplies materials at various construction sites, and carries a lot of cash with him. Thus, to avoid being robbed he wanted a gun licence. However, Borwankar ma&rsquo;am rejected his plea.&rdquo; According to a source from Sahakarnagar police station, a NCP corporator had also applied for an arms licence and the city police rejected his application. But, Londhe promised him that he&rsquo;d get his work done by using his influence. The case Senior PI of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station Shivaji Tambere said that the Jamdar family and Londhe reside in the same housing society in Mohan Nagar. &ldquo;Jamdar works for one Dattatray Khedekar who had lent Rs 15,000 to Londhe a few months ago. Khedekar had asked Jamdar to collect the money from Londhe and pay it to the labourers who work for Khedekar,&rdquo; said Tambere. When Jamdar went to Londhe&rsquo;s house to collect the money, Londhe, in an inebriated state, abused Jamdar. At 10.30 pm, Londhe went to Jamdar&rsquo;s house and fired four bullets out of which three hit Jamdar, his wife Malan, and son Sainath. All of them were rushed to a private hospital are said to be out of danger.
