Heavy rain triggers landslide in Mangaluru; three killed, three others injured

Three members of a family, including two young girls, lost their lives after a rain-triggered landslide destroyed their house in Mangaluru early on Wednesday, news agency PTI reported. Three other family members were rescued from the debris and are undergoing treatment in hospital.

The incident took place behind the Kankanady Police Station in the Nagori area after heavy overnight rainfall caused a section of a nearby hill to collapse, burying the house under a large mound of soil.
