Imphal: Deputy Superintendent of Police Thounaojam Brinda has tendered her resignation, causing much embarrassment to the ruling Congress party in Manipur.

"I had submitted my resignation to L.M. Khoute, the Director General of Police on January 26, 2016, citing personal reasons. Instead of accepting it, the government constituted an inquiry committee to look into it. The committee has summoned me three times. I have refused to attend it since I think it is not neutral," Brinda said.
