Nagpur: A married couple allegedly committed suicide here due to reported opposition from their respective families for the wedding, police said.

25-year-old Sharad Satish Gedam and his wife Barkha Subhash Sirsath (19) took the extreme step yesterday by hanging themselves from a ceiling in their house in the Danteshwari slums in Dhantoli area, a release by Nagpur police said.
