In a surprise move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati Wednesday sacked two more of her ministers, taking to six the number of ministers dropped over the past two months.

According to a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) spokesman, "those dropped from the council of ministers were Akbar Hussain, minister of state (independent charge) for alternative sources of energy, and Yashpal Singh, minister of state for science and technology."
