A seat in a top engineering college allegedly costs up to Rs 25 lakh, with examination centres and CET scores being manipulated to favour candidates, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar alleged on Wednesday while releasing footage of a sting operation targeting the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET).
At a press conference, Pawar alleged that agents were promising candidates scores above the 99th percentile in exchange for money. He also flagged a data breach involving nearly 4.59 lakh candidates, suspicious results and government contracts worth thousands of crores awarded to private agencies.
