Nearly 135 passengers on board a flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Sharjah had a lucky escape after the aircraft developed a mid-air snag. According to Mumbai airport sources, the Air India flight 967 was diverted to Mumbai late evening.
“At 10.40 pm we got a call from Air Traffic Control that an Air India flight had requested the emergency team at Mumbai to be on standby,” said a source at the airport. But the ‘standby’ soon turned into a full-fledged ‘emergency’. Accordingly, emergency teams at Mumbai airport comprising fire vehicles and medical personnel advanced to the runway, the source added.u00a0
