The RBI recently reiterated legal tender status of Rs 10 coins of different designs, after it came to their notice that in certain places there was a growing reluctance on part of traders and members of the public to accept these coins due to suspicion over their genuineness. In a recent press release, the RBI stated that they put into circulation these coins minted by mints, and that they are under the Government of India.
