Mumbai's taxi union disappointed with govt decision to phase out 'old' cabs

Disappointed over the Maharashtra government's decision to phase out taxis which are older then 20 years, Mumbai taxi drivers' union head A L Quadros said today that it is a "sudden" decision.

Clarifying that the taxi drivers' union would not stage any kind of agitation against the move, he said that taxi drivers themselves show willingness to phase out their vehicles once it is old.
"All of a sudden, a decision was taken by the government. Four years ago they had reduced the limit to 25 years," Quadros told PTI.
