Mumbra building collapse: Six-year-old survivor shifted to orphanage

Six-year-old Sandhya Thakur, who miraculously survived the Mumbra building collapse, was finally shifted to an orphanage on April 29 from the civic-run Sion Hospital where she was recuperating

Thakur was rescued from the rubble after 18 hours. Dr Avinash Supe, dean of Sion Hospital, said, “We handed Sandhya over to the Thane police on Monday at 8.30 pm after completing the required paperwork. She was shifted to Janani Ashish Sanstha in Dombivli, which is a charitable trust that takes care of orphans.”
