A 65-year-old woman was found dead at her residence under mysterious circumstances in Vasant Vihar area of south Delhi late on Sunday night. Police have ruled out any robbery attempt and is anticipating that it could be a case of natural death.

"The deceased, Meera Kapoor used to live at her house in Vasant Enclave along with 70-year-old George Gomes. Her sister who lives in Som Vihar area came to meet her and found the main door locked from inside.

She knocked and pressed the door bell several times. When nobody responded she made a call to the PCR. The police reached the spot and broke open the door. George was found sitting inside the house at one corner and was smoking while Meera Kapoor was lying dead," said a senior police officer. The couple were allegedly in a live-in relationship for the past 7 years.

The officer said that Kapoor's body did not bear any injury marks and it seemed she had died of natural causes. Her body has been sent for post mortem.

"Kapoor had been an employee at Ashok Hotel. George was previously working with Air India. Kapoor was undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. We are questioning George in this matter.
