ND Commerce, a leading eCommerce services company that operates several large brand online stores on Thursday announced its plans to further expand its cross-border ecommerce service offering. As part of the growth, ND Commerce has created cross-border ecommerce capability in terms of overseas sellers and international exporters and logistics providers to enable cross border ecommerce into India
Under this unique offering, ND Commerce has enrolled several international sellers with over 1 Million SKUS. Such overseas sellers can now offer their products to India consumers through online marketplaces through the ND Commerce Shop-No-Borders Initiative. In addition to selling their products on online marketplaces, ND Commerce offers international sellers and brands the opportunity to sell their products under their own brand online store in India. To enable this, ND Commerce offers the service of Importer of Record and Seller of Record for international brands and sellers.
Commenting on the new business vertical, Ajay Miglani, Co-Founder of ND Commerce said "Cross Border eCommerce has been going on for a long time. Indian consumers have been buying products from overseas online shops who deliver to India. However such transactions could come with their own set of issues like low reliability, lack of customer services, product returns challenges and non compliance with GST and Import Tax guidelines. They are often fulfilled by courier or postal systems that bring these products in as personal purchases and may often be sold by international sellers with low invoicing or as samples , thereby avoiding payment of customs duties. With our Cross border solutions, we have built a robust ecosystem to enable smooth operations for this growing business opportunity"
Ajay Miglani further added &lsquo; With the new B2B2C service from ND Commerce, international sellers and brands can get tax compliant by paying import duties and GST on sales through the importer of record and seller of record. The processes set up by ND Commerce ensures full tax compliance and also provide local returns management support&rsquo;
As part of its cross border ecommerce initiative, ND Commerce has service offerings under B2B2C (Overseas Seller to ND Commerce to Consumer in India ) and B2B2B (Overseas Seller to ND Commerce to Business Customer in India).
One such initiative by ND Commerce can be seen on the Paytm Mall World Store. Products are listed on Paytm Mall and imported after orders are placed by consumers.
Speaking about the consumer need in this area, Mukund Malagi, Co-Founder, ND Commerce said &lsquo; Cross Border eCommerce also offers an opportunity for consumers in India to choose from a larger range of merchandise, often cheaper because of reduction in the number of distribution intermediaries. Mukund further shared insightful data on the consumer buying behavior &lsquo; We are already seeing very good traction and hunger for a lot of products. The primary transaction price range of products is in the range of Rs 500-700. Currently, the most popular merchandise selling are sunglasses, personal accessories, unique home use items and fashion products. Our endeavor is to further mix and match more categories, higher ticket size and bridge consumer needs by adding more categories.
