Shiv Sena leader and women's rights activist Neelam Gorhe demanded for police protection for the family of Latur's slain Congress youth leader Kalpana Giri.

Speaking to reporters, Gorhe said that the case should be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). She told reporters on Wednesday that she had visited Giri's family on Tuesday to pay her respects and had also written to the police asking them to protect the family.
