The condition of veteran CPI(M) leader Jyoti Basu, who is battling pneumonia, continues to remain critical on Saturday.

Ninety-five-year-old Basu was kept under full ventilation as a precautionary measure Friday night, though he was put on partial ventilatory support in the daytime, Sushrut Bandopadhyay, who is on the medical board treating the leader at the private AMRI hospital here, told reporters.
