Now, a mobile app to map city traffic

The Pune Traffic Police has taken the tech-savvy route to keep a check on the traffic conditions in the city. In a first-of -its-kind app to be launched in the state, the department announced the release of their new Android-based mobile application, which would enable citizens to get real-time traffic updates, register complaints and search for helpline numbers.

The application also allows one to upload pictures of the traffic offenders, and register complaints against errant auto rickshaw drivers. The app was launched by the Police Commissioner Satish Mathur yesterday at the city traffic branch.
