Pune: A hit-and-run accident took place of Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Wednesday afternoon, killing one pedestrian, a monk from Ujjain. Another person is critical and is undergoing treatment at a Nigdi-based hospital.
The incident took place around 5 pm on Wednesday on the Expressway near Urse Toll naka.
A hit-and-run case has been registered against a car driver at Talegaon Dabhade police station. The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Anirudh Karmayogi Maharaj (40) from Ujjain in Indore.
According to the expressway control room, &ldquo;A car coming from Mumbai dashed against the road divider and hit Anirudh who died on the spot, while another person is critical. After the incident, the car driver fled away.&rdquo;
