Only poles, no lights on Airport Road

Despite funds sanctioned under the JNNURM being given to the civic body before last year's budget, 35 street lamps installed between Vishrantwadi Chowk and Airport Road remain non-functional since the past one year for the want of bulbs
In what could only be attributed to sheer bureaucratic apathy, the 35 street lamps installed between Vishrantwadi Chowk and Airport Road have remained non-functional for the past one year for want of bulbs.u00a0Surprisingly, the project remains incomplete despite the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) receiving complete funds from the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), under which the project was sanctioned.

In the dark: Cops say the area has become unsafe due to absence of street lights. A couple of chain snatching incidents have taken place on the stretch in the past 3 months. Pic/Krunal Gosavi
