The count of offenders has increased by 3.42 lakh from the same period last year; but traffic officials say the rise in numbers is only due to their more frequent crackdowns
Despite the many awareness campaigns carried out to ensure better road safety, traffic violations in the year 2013 (up until June) have increased substantially. According to figures provided by the traffic department, the number has increased from 7,22,275 in the first six months of last year to 10,64,560, marking an increase of roughly 3.42 lakh.
