Concluding the all-party delegation’s visit to four nations, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Manan Kumar Mishra underscored that all the countries visited responded positively to India’s firm stance on the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
In an interview with ANI, Mishra stated that the delegation, under the leadership of Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, did not expect strong support from some nations, especially Islamic countries such as the UAE. However, to their surprise, the UAE responded warmly and offered unequivocal support.
"Under the leadership of Shrikant Shinde, we visited four countries. We went to the UAE first. We got a very good response there. We did not expect that we would get such a good response from an Islamic country like the UAE," Mishra said, highlighting the unexpected diplomatic success.
He added that Sierra Leone and Liberia went a step further by observing a moment of silence in their respective parliaments to pay homage to the victims of the Pahalgam attack.
"Today, in the parliament of two countries, Sierra Leone and Liberia, silence was observed to honour the deceased souls (of those who died in the Pahalgam terrorist attack). This is a big thing. Everyone has condemned the activities of Pakistan and the terrorist incidents. Everyone has strongly opposed terrorist activities by Pakistan," he noted.
Mishra further expressed hope that these nations will support India’s position on terrorism in international platforms such as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the African Union.
"We expect that in the coming days, these three countries in the UNSC and African Union will raise their voice. Pakistan is a terrorist country that produces terrorists. It trains and dispatches them to India and other countries. We have explained these things very well to them," he said.
The BJP MP also mentioned that the delegation engaged with the Indian diaspora in every country visited and received overwhelming support and appreciation for India’s anti-terror stance.
"We met the Indian diaspora everywhere and got a great response. We have been successful in conveying a message against Pakistan and terrorism. In the coming days, the results of our mission will be revealed to the country and the world," Mishra added confidently.
The fourth group of the All-Party delegation, led by Shrikant Shinde, concluded their visit to the UAE, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia today. Their journey was part of India’s broader diplomatic outreach to garner global support against cross-border terrorism.
