An Air India Express flight bound for Varanasi faced a security scare on Monday after a passenger allegedly attempted to enter the cockpit mid-flight.

The incident occurred on Flight IX1086, which was en route to Varanasi, when a passenger ignored repeated warnings from the crew and approached the cockpit door.


The airline stated that no safety breach took place, and the cockpit remained secure throughout the flight.



Upon landing, the incident was reported to security authorities for further investigation.

In a statement, an Air India Express spokesperson said, “Air India Express flight IX1086 faced a security issues on Monday as a passenger tried to enter the cockpit of the aircraft even after multiple warnings from the crew members. “We are aware of media reports regarding an incident on one of our flights to Varanasi, where a passenger approached the cockpit entry area while looking for the lavatory. We reaffirm that robust safety and security protocols are in place and were not compromised. The matter was reported to the relevant authorities on landing and is currently under investigation.”
