PM inaugurates Rs.4,500 crore gas pipeline project

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday inaugurated a Rs.4,500 crore ($722 million) 1,000 km-long gas pipeline that connects Dabhol in Maharashtra to Bangalore in Karnataka

The project has been developed by the state-run Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

The prime minister dedicated the project to the nation at the inaugural ceremony of the 8th Asia Gas Partnership Summit organised jointly by GAIL and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) here.
