After a two-year-long wait, PM Modi will finally visit Manipur on September 13, 2025. This will be PM Modi’s first visit to the North-eastern state since the unrest broke out in 2023. While informing about the Prime Minister’s visit, the Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel on Friday posted while addressing the media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on September 13 and will unveil projects worth Rs 8,500 crore.

While asserting about Prime Minister’s visit to Manipur, Chief Secretary of the state, Puneet Kumar Goel, during the press conference, said, "In line with his commitment to inclusive, sustainable and holistic development of Manipur, the prime minister will lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 7,300 crore at Churachandpur," as cited by news agency PTI.

The Prime Minister, during his visit to the Northeast state, will also inaugurate multiple development projects worth more than Rs 1,200 crore at Imphal.

The Chief Secretary further added that "The PM's September 13 visit to Manipur will pave the way for peace, normalcy, and growth in the state," as per news agency PTI.

Adding to the information, he further asserted that the Prime Minister will also interact with internally displaced people in Churachandpur and Imphal.

Earlier, officials also said that the security measures have been tightened in Imphal and Churachandpur district headquarters town ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Manipur on Saturday.

With security being a very big concern, both state and central forces personnel have been deployed in large numbers in and around the nearly 237-acre Kangla Fort in Imphal and Peace Ground in Churachandpur, where a grand stage is being constructed for the prime minister's function.

In view of welcoming the Prime Minister in Manipur, a large gate, measuring more than 20 feet in length, with "Welcome Shri Narendra Modi ji" written on it, was set up near the BJP state headquarters in Manipur’s capital, Imphal.

The gate welcoming PM Modi’s banner was set up on the route through which the Prime Minister is expected to pass on Saturday to reach Kangla Fort from Imphal airport.
