PMC considers moving biogas project away from Panchvati Hill

After facing flak from residents over its proposal to construct a biogas plant at Panchvati Hill on Pashan Road, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) might scrap the project

The civic body is in the process of locating an open space away from the hill for constructing of the plant, where it would cause minimum harm to the environment.

Earlier this month, this newspaper reported on how over 500 indigenous trees and a few quarries in Panchvati Hill area could face a major threat if the PMC’s proposal to construct a biogas power plant was approved.
