PMC spends Rs 14 lakh on hiring CCTV cams for two days

While activists say it would be far cheaper to purchase the equipment, civic body representatives claim they don't have the manpower for regular maintenance

To secure the visarjan procession route, Pune Municipal Corporation has hired 92 CCTV cameras for two days by spending Rs 14 lakh. These have been installed at 40 immersion spots (ghats) of the city.
