Political opponents feel Kalmadi should resign

Following Delhi Court framing charges against Kalmadi, political opponents say Congress should expel him, but supporters believe he will emerge victorious
Member of Parliament Suresh Kalmadi, political opponents believe, should resign after the Delhi Court framed charges against him yesterday. Kalmadi’s supporters from the Congress on the other hand are confident that his innocence will be proven and state that he will be back with a bang and the city will support him once again.
The Delhi Court framed charges against the expelled CWG Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi along with nine others for allegedly cheating, conspiring and causing a loss of over Rs 90 crore to the exchequer in the Games-related corruption case. Special CBI Judge Ravinder Kaur framed charges under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act against Kalmadi and the other accused.
