The police have arrested Rafik (37), Jamal (26) and Afzal (28), who hail from Beltangadi village situated in Udupi. However, shop owner Shabbir managed to escape successfully. Authorities are eager to nab Shabbir, as he is believed to have links with Karnataka Forum for Dignity, which is supposed to have close connections to the banned outfit Student Islamic Movement of India. Upparpet Police Inspector Lokeshwar said, "The store has been selling such books for the last two years. We are hopeful that we will arrest him."
