President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a four-day visit to Gujarat and Maharashtra from April 13 to 16, during which she will participate in multiple academic and public events, according to an official statement.
The President will begin her visit in Gujarat on April 13, where she will attend the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS Rajkot. The event marks a significant milestone for the institution as it hosts its inaugural graduating batch.
On April 14, she will travel to Gandhinagar to participate in the ‘Samajik Samrasta Mahotsava’ at Lok Bhavan, organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar.
Engagements at Rashtriya Raksha University
During her Gandhinagar visit, President Murmu will also attend the fifth convocation ceremony of Rashtriya Raksha University, underscoring the government’s focus on academic excellence in the field of national security and policing.
Maharashtra Visit to Focus on Academic Institutions
On April 15, the President will proceed to Maharashtra for the second leg of her visit. She is scheduled to attend the second convocation ceremony of AIIMS Nagpur.
Later the same day, she will grace the valediction ceremony of the 78th batch of Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer trainees at the National Academy of Direct Taxes, where she is expected to address the newly inducted officers.
Final Stop at Wardha University Convocation
The President will conclude her tour on April 16 with her participation in the sixth convocation ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya in Wardha.
‘Watan Ko Jano’ Programme Highlighted
Earlier this week, President Murmu interacted with a youth delegation from Jammu and Kashmir at Rashtrapati Bhavan under the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ initiative.
The programme, supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to promote national integration by exposing young participants from government-run homes to the cultural and developmental diversity of different regions across the country.
Officials noted that the initiative has played a key role in fostering unity and a sense of inclusiveness among youth, contributing to broader efforts toward national cohesion.
The upcoming visit reflects the President’s continued engagement with educational institutions and initiatives aimed at strengthening national integration and academic excellence.
