Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against two officials of a private energy company in connection with the collapse of a three-storey building at a waste-to-energy project in Pune district that claimed nine lives last week.

The case pertains to the July 8 incident at the waste-to-energy facility in Moshi, operated by Antony Lara Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd for the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Investigators have alleged that inadequate safety measures were in place despite continuous heavy rainfall and the presence of a large mound of legacy waste near the building.
