Pune Police raid late-night party, seize ganja and banned hookah products

Pune Police raided a latenight party in Tulapur village in the early hours of Sunday and seized ganja banned hookahrelated products and liquor allegedly being served beyond the permitted time limit More than 150 people were present at the venue when the operation was carried out officials saidThe raid was conducted under the jurisdiction of the Lonikand police station following specific intelligence inputs regarding alleged violations at the eventRaid Conducted in Early Hours of SundayAccording to Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime Gauhar Hasan the operation was carried out at around 230 am on SundayPolice teams found 156 people at the venue including 107 men and 49 women Officials said three of the attendees were below the age of 21Authorities launched the raid after receiving information that the event was continuing beyond the permitted time and that prohibited substances may have been present at the locationLiquor Allegedly Served Beyond Permitted HoursInvestigators said the organisers had obtained permission to serve liquor only until 1130 pm on June 6 However the party allegedly continued well past the authorised timeDuring the inspection police found a large quantity of liquor at the venue Officials estimated the value of the liquor stock at approximately Rs 922 lakhAuthorities are examining whether the organisers violated provisions related to excise permissions and event regulationsGanja and Banned Hookah Products RecoveredPolice said they recovered around three grams of ganja during the operation In addition officers seized three hookah pots containing banned flavoured smoking productsThe possession and use of certain hookahrelated products are prohibited under applicable regulations and investigators are examining whether additional violations occurred during the eventOfficials said the seized material has been taken into custody and will form part of the ongoing investigationOrganisers Identified by PoliceAccording to police Aiman Sheikh of Blaze Entertainment and Yash Chaudhary of Star Light Entertainment have been identified as the principal organisers of the eventAuthorities are investigating their role in conducting the party and determining whether all required permissions and regulatory conditions were complied withPolice have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the caseSeizure Valued at Around Rs 85 LakhOfficials said the total value of the seized material including liquor and other items recovered during the raid is estimated to be around Rs 85 lakhThe operation was carried out by a large police contingent comprising 15 officers and 65 constables The team conducted a thorough inspection of the premises and documented evidence related to the alleged violationsFurther Legal Action UnderwayPolice said further legal action is being initiated based on the findings of the raid Investigators are examining possible offences related to narcotics prohibited smoking products excise regulations and event management normsAuthorities are also verifying the credentials of attendees and organisers as part of the investigationThe raid comes amid increased enforcement efforts by Pune Police against illegal latenight parties narcoticsrelated offences and violations of licensing conditions at entertainment events across the districtWith inputs from PTI
