Pune police register FIR against Runwal Group MD in Viman Nagar land dispute case

Pune City Police have registered an FIR against Runwal Group Managing Director Subodh Runwal and six others following a court order in connection with an alleged land dispute involving a prime property parcel in Punersquos Viman Nagar area reported ANIThe case was registered at Vimantal Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita BNS including Sections 111 3182 3293 3363 along with other relevant provisions police officials said on Thursday reported ANIApart from Subodh Runwal those named in the FIR include Ashutosh N Navare Lucy Roy Chowdhury MB Agarwal and three othersCourt directs police to file FIRThe FIR was registered following an order passed by Judicial Magistrate First Class Dr DR Dornalpalle on May 16 under Section 1753 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita BNSS reported ANIThe court directed Pune Police to formally register a case and conduct a detailed investigation into the allegations raised by the complainantsAccording to the court order the complainants had earlier approached police authorities with supporting documents witness statements and a site panchnama alleging irregularities linked to the ownership and transfer of development rights related to the disputed land parcelHowever they alleged that no FIR had initially been registered despite repeated complaintsReferring to the Supreme Courtrsquos ruling in the Lalita Kumari vs Government of Uttar Pradesh case the magistrate observed that registration of an FIR is mandatory when information provided discloses a cognisable offenceDispute linked to Viman Nagar land parcelAccording to the complaint the dispute revolves around a 393hectare land parcel situated in the LohegaonViman Nagar area near Pune International AirportThe complainants alleged that late businessman Satish Satyanarayan Mittal through his firm Wonder Properties had acquired ownership and development rights over the land during 2005 and 2006In 2007 Wonder Properties allegedly entered into a registered joint venture agreement with Runwal Developers Pvt Ltd to form an Association of Persons AOP called Runwal Wonder Ventures reported ANIAs per the agreement cited in the complaint Wonder Properties was entitled to 52 per cent of the gross revenue generated from the project while Runwal Developers was to receive 48 per cent reported ANIAllegations of forged and backdated documentsThe complaint further alleged that the agreement barred any transfer or assignment of rights without written approval from Satish Mittal or his legal heirsFollowing Mittalrsquos death in January 2016 the complainants claimed that the AOP was never legally reconstituted with his heirs as required reported ANIThey further alleged that forged and backdated documents were later created to facilitate the transfer of rights to related entities without proper authorisationThe FIR does not amount to proof of guilt and the allegations are currently under investigationPolice begin detailed investigationPolice officials confirmed that further investigation into the matter is underwayWith inputs from ANI
