Heavy monsoon rain triggered floods, landslides, and widespread disruption across Pune district on Monday.  Rivers overflowed, roads and highways were submerged, bridges were closed, and transport services were severely disrupted, prompting large-scale rescue operations across the district.

The worst tragedy was reported from Patan village in Maval taluka, where a rain-triggered landslide buried a house at the foothills of Visapur Fort. Rescue teams recovered three bodies from the debris while searches continued for any remaining victims. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), local administration, and disaster response teams remained at the site.
