<p>In a major boost for rail connectivity, two important train services linking <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-maharera-approves-over-10000-housing-projects-in-fy26-pune-and-mmr-lead-growth-23626574" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pune</a> with North India have been approved.</p>
<p>A new &lsquo;Amrit Bharat&rsquo; Express will operate between Hadapsar (Pune) and Varanasi (Banaras), offering faster and more direct travel for passengers heading to Kashi and Prayagraj.</p>
<p>Every year, a large number of devotees from Pune travel to these religious destinations. The introduction of this train is expected to make their journey more convenient and comfortable.</p>
<p>The train will originate from Hadapsar Terminal, which is also likely to ease congestion at<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-three-run-over-by-train-on-railway-track-in-pune-23603636" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"> Pune Railway Station</a>.</p>
<h2>Pune&ndash;Jabalpur Train to Run Regularly</h2>
<p>The Pune-Jabalpur special train (02131/02132) will now be converted into a regular service.</p>
<p><strong>New numbers:</strong> 20161 / 20162<br /><strong>New name: </strong>Pune&ndash;Jabalpur Express</p>
<p>With this change, passengers will be able to book tickets well in advance throughout the year. Ticket fares are also expected to be lower compared to those of special trains.</p>

<p>Union Minister of State <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/pune-airport-operations-resume-after-iaf-fighter-jet-undercarriage-failure-blocks-runway-23626355" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Murlidhar Mohol</a> said the long-pending demand for improved rail connectivity between Pune and North India has finally been addressed. He added that the new services will benefit a large number of passengers, particularly those travelling for pilgrimage.</p>
