The news has been warmly welcomed by worried students and their parents, who were reeling under the pressure of rumours and speculations. Often considered as the first academic landmark in the student life, the PSEB 10th Result 2016 paves the way ahead for admission to secondary level schools in any of the three streams of Arts, Commerce and Science. Other factors, which exemplify the important of these results, are student participation and competitive nature of the examination. Last year, a total of 3,53,327 students appeared for the Class 10 Board Exam of Punjab, of which 2.15 lakh were boys and 1.64 lakh were girls. The overall pass percentage for Punjab Board 10^th Exam 2015 was recorded at 68.61%. In the traditional girls v boys battle, girls outperformed the boys. The pass percentage among girls stood at 73.08%, whereas for the boys registered 60.19%. Nitasha Aggarwal with 99.08% marks topped the coveted examination.
