Punjab government bars private schools from increasing fee

'Parents want to impart quality education to their children but their pockets don't allow it,' Punjab CM Mann said in a video message, adding that it forces them to discontinue studies of their children

Days before the next academic session begins, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday directed all private schools not to increase fee or compel children to buy books, uniform or stationery items from select shops.

"Parents want to impart quality education to their children but their pockets don't allow it," he said in a video message, adding that it forces them to discontinue studies of their children.
