Congress is all set to hold the Congress Working Committee meeting in Patna on Wednesday. With the meeting all set to commence today, senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Bihar's Patna.
As reported by news agency PTI, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting will be held at Sadaqat Ashram, the party's state unit headquarters in Patna.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi landed at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna during the early hours of Wednesday. After landing at the Patna airport, Rahul was received by Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar and other senior party leaders.
The CWC meeting has been organised in Patna in view of strengthening the presence of the INDIA bloc across the state. With assembly elections in Bihar just a few days away, the opposition is trying everything in its armoury to create a significant hold in Bihar just before the polls.
Bihar Congress chief, while asserting about the CWC meeting, Kumar, while speaking to the media, said that 'the state, national and international-level issues, including 'vote theft' and imposition of tariffs by the Donald Trump administration in the US, were likely to feature in the CWC meeting,' as cited by news agency PTI.
Earlier on Tuesday, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi also announced that he is scheduled to kickstart the Bihar Assembly elections campaign with "Seemanchal Nyay Yatra" from September 24 to September 27 in the Seemanchal region of Bihar.
Considering that AIMIM is neither part of the INDIA bloc nor the NDA, the Owaisi-led party can surely play a spoilsport during the Bihar assembly elections.
As reported by news agency PTI, AIMIM president Owaisi, during the Yatra, will be holding road shows and corner meetings in various Assembly constituencies of the Seemanchal region.
An official statement released by the AIMIM further stated that the Hyderabad MP will launch the ‘Seemanchal Nyay Yatra’ from Kishanganj to unite the people for the development and to deliver justice for the Seemanchal region.
Earlier in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, AIMIM contested in 25 Assembly Constituencies and won five seats. However, all the seats that AIMIM managed to conquer were in the Seemanchal region of Bihar.
