Railway penalises 428 litterbugs in 4 months

<p>Pune railway division has collected a total of Rs 42,800 in fines from those dirtying station premises</p>

Since the time the railway initiated a drive to rein in litterbugs, officials of the Pune railway division have penalised 428 offenders in the last four months and collected Rs 42,800 in fines.

Yogendra Kumar Singh, PRO for Pune railway division, said, “Time and again, we spread awareness among commuters by performing skits and stage shows.

We also install banners and distribute leaflets, requesting people to keep the railway premises clean by using dustbins to
dispose of waste.”
