The ploy came to light after the police arrested the two accused Ashok Kodakanti (25) and Ghoshpak Shaikh (24) who had attacked and robbed the man, Balkrishna Naik, on June 19. The main accused Asha Naik has been detained by the police.

According to the police, on June 19, around 3.30 am at CGS Colony, Antop Hill, the two accused attacked Naik with a bamboo stick and looted cash and valuables worth Rs 22,550. Naik,who is a taxi-driver by profession then registered an FIR at the Antop Hill police station.
