There are 35 such hospitals and 26 civic bodies in state
A Right to Information (RTI) application seeking details from the state health and family welfare department regarding cases registered under Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, has received a nugatory response. Only six out of the 35 civil hospitals and six municipal corporations from among the 26 in the state have provided feedback.u00a0

“The health and family welfare department had forwarded my application to all civil hospitals and municipal corporations and asked them to provide the information. I don’t know why it did this as the ministry has the facts. I was shocked to see the dismal response. Also, according to the information revealed most of these corporations have not filed any such cases. I doubt whether they are serious about PCPNDT Act,” said activist Ganesh Borhade.
