File pic</td></tr></tbody></table>Even as the nation waits with bated breath as periodic medical bulletins are released by doctors attending to Sri Satya Sai Baba, several developments, including a visit by a government delegation to Puttaparthy is causing concern among his devotees. The team of doctors maintain that his health is stable. However, his devotees are not happy with the ambiguous health bulletins filled with medical jargons that are being released now. They want doctors to draft the health updates in layman's language so that they have no problem understanding it. Dr A N Safaya, director of Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, who is supervising the Baba's treatment said, "I can't say that he is out of danger. His condition continues to be stable and neither deterioration nor improvement has been seen." The latest medical bulletin stated, "There are signs of improvement in the functioning of his kidneys although he is still on dialysis. He continues to be on the ventilator for assisting his respiration. The blood pressure is satisfactory. The panel of doctors treating Him is keeping a constant watch over His health condition." Apparently nervous over contradictions in the doctors' versions, devotees are demanding a clear report. "I am sure Baba will recover, but the doctors must talk in clear terms when devotees are anxious," said Shiva Sai Baba, a look-alike of Satya Sai Baba who runs an Ashram in Chikaballapur in his name. Govt to take over? Meanwhile, an official team, representing the Andhra Pradesh government that includes L V Subamnaya, principal secretary (finance), P V Ramesh, principal secretary- health, Dr Raghu Raju, director of medical education, Dr Lakshmana Rao, cardiologist in Osmania General Hospital and Dr Bhanuprakash, general physician, are camping in Puttaparthy. The speculation is that the team is studying the possibility of the government taking over the Satya Sai Central Trust that is running religious and educational institutions and hospitals across the world, as there is no heir apparent for the trust worth over Rs 40,000 crore.u00a0 The main source of fund inflow to the trust is donations and the team is scrutinising accounts. A highly placed source in Prashanthi Nilayam, the main ashram of Satya Sai Baba in Puttaparthy, said that the team was mulling over recommending the Central Government to take over the trust as the Baba had once expressed this desire.
