The initiative would not focus on any big names as this is an event for and by the common man. All the 200 government schools in the city have been invited and although all political parties have been invited, they will be seated along with the common man. We do not want the general crowd to treat Independence Day as just another holiday," said B R Sujay, a key member of the organising team. The event will showcase the talents of cultural teams from across the city and feature an assortment of events."The event will conclude with the recital of patriotic songs and the national flag will be hoisted at the stroke of midnight, which will be symbolic to the actual way our country achieved freedom," said event organiser B H Lokesh. With plans to celebrate the spirit of freedom in a unique way, over 5,000 Bangaloreans are expected to turn up at the event.
